Labor Day 2010

Since we discovered Clarks Gully-South Hill Labor day weekend 20o7 we make an effort to try and go back every Labor Day weekend. Here are the pictures from Labor Day 2010.

Ledges area can be accessed by parking at the top of South Hill. Follow the herd path through the grass to a pine woods. Keep going. You will shortly come to a steep ridge, the Ledges area is directly below you. Take a left and follow the Rim Trail down. After descending the trail it will flatten out. You will see a trail to your left that goes into a lovely Hemlock woods and stream. Five feet ahead of you will see a herd path to your right. Turn right on this path. If the trail starts rising again you have gone too far. If you continue walking straight there will be a steep decline that will end with a spectacular view at a cliff's edge. Be careful as South Hill is noted for steep inclines with loose stones that rob you of traction and can act like ball bearings to move your feet without your permission.
The herd path to your right back tracks about 20 feet to bring you into the Ledges area. This area contains dozens and dozens of stone mounds, stone structures, large flat stones. A great place to meditate at. Plenty to explore.

Helen is standing next to a stone mound that is on your left as you enter the Ledges area. Nice.

A view of the Welcome circle in the Ledges area looking towards the pond in the background.

Pepper in a mound in the Ledges area.

We carried out a rusted old wheelbarrow on our way out.

Later in the afternoon we drove to the entrance on Wolfanger road and went down the mountain. There are several dozen mounds in this area and the vibe is great.

Keepers of the Mound. Part of the gang is sitting on a mound right off a road heading down hill. Notice Pepper the white dog in the hollowed out area in the center. The mound covers 8 or more earth chakras. We believe that this stone mound may have had a keeper, in fact 4 or 5 of them successively, that watched over and maintained the mound. Spiritual pilgrims would sit on the periphery of the stone mound and in the center. I intuited this, but also my dowsing rods show that there were numerous natural vortices of cosmic prana at the periphery indicating people prayed or did ceremony there.

Helen sitting on a mound that covers 8 earth chakras and an emanator. The emanator exudes positive emotional feelings of peace and happiness. We meditated here for a while and found it delightful.

Pepper sitting on a ceremonial mound that marks the intersection of numerous Ley Lines, or Lines of Consciousness. It is just about a perfect circles. Enlarge the picture to see how the stones are stacked neatly on the right side.

Lucy and Pepper sitting on a stone mound covering earth chakras. Lucy is sitting in what remains of the hollowed center area.

Stone Walls are sometimes made using stones from old Native American sacred sites. Here is a stone wall made from stones stripped from a nearby stone mound. The stone wall was used to cover up a streambed that eventually widens out and deepens. TOO BAD!!!

Lorraine and Lucy are standing at where the stone mound once was that was used to create the stone wall-waterbreak.

Here is another look at the remnants of a stone mound. Notice how the stones are placed vertically in the earth;this could have been the center area.

Pepper and my backpack are in the center area of a stone mound that cover 14 earth chakras.

Orbs, Megalights and Covered Earth Chakras

Here are a few pictures of South Hill that my friend Zac Moore and I took on Tuesday (8/24/10.) Not surprisingly we found several smaller mounds and covered earth chakras at the northern eastern end of (South Hill, Hi Tor) far from the top where the gorge is. I imagine that at one time all of the ridge/hills all the way up to Bare Hill(5-10 miles) may have had their Earth Chakras covered with stones. WE found lots of covered earth chakras, mounds on ley lines, a mini-megalith, a cistern....lots of other things just following a herd (deer) path along side of South Hill.
The energy on South Hill was powerful. Having all the Earth Chakras covered with stones makes all the Earth Prana linger in the air charging you up. It feels like getting Reiki or some other hands on healing technique every minute that you are there.WOW!
Check out the Orb above Lorraine's dog Lucy. She is sitting in the hollowed out area of a stone mound that covers several earth chakras. This stone mound is located in the Ledges area just below the ridge at the top of South Hill. Given that there are dozens of stone mounds, vortices of cosmic prana created from all the vision questing and praying that took place it is not surprising to see an orb. It is a powerful place. Click on the picture to enlarge it.

Here is my dog Pepper sitting in the middle of the hollowed area of a stone mound. The surrounding stone sits on several earth chakras and is blocking the flow of earth prana (http://www.jubileeinitiative.org/pranaflow.html) As I have noted previously I believe that the hollow cneter was created to help form a vortex or for someone to sit in. This stone mound is located in the Ledges area of South Hill just below the ridge walk on top.

Here I am with Pepper squating next to a small megalith. It appears that someone dug a deep hole and planted this large stone upright, similar to what you see in the UK. We could find no divine feature of Mother Earth nearby.

You can see two large stones at Zac's feet that are covering earth chakras.

My dog Pepper is standing above a cistern, or well of sorts. I don't think that this is very old, but who knows.

Here is a picture of Zac next to a smaller stone mound. While the picture does not show it, the stones appear to be forcibly hewn from the ground. This pile was situated on 3 eath chakras and was found at the far northeastern part of the Hi Tor area miles away from the Clarks Gully gorge and the top of South Hill.

Three Tiered Elongated Mound

On July 4, 2010 we went to South Hill (where the Seneca people believe that they were born) for prayer and to survey the area some more. On the Upper Part of the Hill, in the Ledges area on the western side of the gorge we found an elongated Stone mound on one of the lower ledges. Again we believe that the many mounds on South Hill were created by the Adena, meaning that they are probably 2500 to 3500 years old. Read my earlier posts and you will find that my rationale is based upon the work of Dave Robinson and his analysis of NY State Historians Ritchie and Parker.

The Mound Consists of three terraces running approximately east west and about 30-40 feet or more in total length. The eastern most terrace is the lowest one, the middle terrace is a foot or two higher and the final terrace is another two feet higher. The terraces are fairly flat. The formation appears to have been made in order to tap into and work with Mother Earth.

In the next picture I am standing in the middle tier, or terrace. This elongated area appears to be situated on some sort of feature Mother Earth; Possibly an emanator of some sort.

In the next picture my dog Pepper is sitting on the highest and furthest western part of the structure. This final terrace rests on a series of earth chakras. He is in the center which is hollowed out, and in my opinion was created to help with the formation of a natural vortex. The whole is about 2 feet in diameter and about 2 feet deep. Perhaps this where they would sit to pray or do ceremony to tap into the earth prana. (To learn more about Earth Chakras see my youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFNzglbm16o

The stones are meant to block the flow of prana. Earth prana is impeded by physical objects.
The final picture is another overview.
As I have noted previously most of South Hill, with the exception of those areas farmed have their earth chakras covered with stones. The stones block the flow of earth prana and create a charged Tesla type of feel to the area. It gives you a feeling similar to a hands on healing. To learn more about the flow of prana/Energy read:
http://www.jubileeinitiative.org/pranaflow.html
Here are two short videos that I hope to incorporate later into a more comprehensive youtube posting on South Hill and its various stone mounds. As I note in the first video the formation of an energy vortex of cosmic prana indicates that the structure was used for spiritual purposes. Such vortices form in response to someone performing spiritual exercises at a particular location. Imagine that the energy vortex still lingers after thousands of years. Wow! To learn more about energy vortices read: http://wisdom-magazine.com/Article.aspx/1355/
I have the upmost respect for the mound builders because they certainly had an incredible amount of knowledge of Mother Earth's subtle body, which regretably has been lost through ages. Bravo Adena!

PS There is still much to be learned at South Hill.

The Line of Stones at the top of South Hill

On the ledges, or terrace area, on the top of South Hill I found another interesting piece of stone work designed to work with Mother Earth. There is a series of 6 stones aligned in a straight line about 60-80 feet in length. Each stone marked the beginning of an energy line. Each energy line went directly to the right (south) from the picture. No energy line connected the stones.

The pictures below show my dogs on the first three energy lines beginning from the west. The remaining three energy lines are behind the black dog, Lucy.

The stones are all of good size and embedded in the ground. Here is closer up of Pepper and Lucy on two of the stones.

Just to the right of Lucy and Pepper is the remains (not quite there) of a large vortex of energy. One of what I call Cosmic Prana, because it is more consciousness than energy. Vortices of Cosmic Prana form where much prayer/ceremony/ritual/meditation has taken place. The formation of the energy vortex tells me that this was a sacred formation or structure. To read about Energy Vortices go to: http://www.jubileeinitiative.org/energyvortices.html

My dowsing rods also indicate that the three stones may have been part of a structure. A structure that goes about 20 feet to the right of the dogs and includes the energy vortex. The remaining 3 stones were also part of the structure in some way.

The question is:
Were the stones placed on the energy lines to create the structure?
Or
Did the energy lines form in response to the stones, structure and prayers and meditations that took place in the structure? In other words were they drawn there by the intentions of what took place within the structure?

More Mounds

Friends,
While on top of South Hill on Saturday August 22, 2009 I came across these gems. All of the stone mounds are placed on earth chakras (energy vortices) as I have been writing about for some time. When you cover an earth chakra earth prana is prevented from entering it. This helps charge the air and I believe were done for spiritual purposes. Today's findings are not only further confirmation of this but they show incredible ingenuity.

David Robinson believes that the various stone mounds found on South Hill are attributed to the Hopewell Adena http://www.crookedlakereview.com/articles/101_135/103spring1997/103robinson.html His friend Stone Pile Whisperer has been cataloguing many of them
http://hi-torstone.blogspot.com/. I agree with Robinson. Given that the stone mounds are thousands of years old they are in great condition for their age.

All of the stone piles were located at the top of South Hill not far from the parking lot area on a series of ledges close to where I first found out that stone mounds were placed on earth chakras. I found over a dozen mounds covering approximately 100 earth chakras. (To learn more about earth chakras: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFNzglbm16o the flow of prana http://www.jubileeinitiative.org/pranaflow.html .)

The Pictures
The mound in the first picture is on 3 earth. The two dogs in the picture (white-Pepper, Black-Lucy) are sitting on earth chakras. The notebook is located on a natural vortex of Cosmic prana and is a strong indication that the mounds were used for spiritual purposes. A vortex of cosmic prana forms when spiritual practices such as meditation, prayer, ritual and or ceremony are practiced at a location.

The second picture shows a series of a stone mound covering 7 earth chakras (Lucy and Pepper are on two of them.) What is interesting, ingenious, about this mound is that it is circular in form and the center is empty. This has the affect of creating a natural vortex in the center. WOW! The next picture demonstrates this better.
The last picture shows Pepper sitting in the center of a stone mound located on 4 earth chakras. A natural vortex has formed in the center.

Vision Questing
Later at home while I was watching a movie I broke into tears. I mean serious tears, as I begged God to give me the strength to do what he/she wants of me. It was powerful moment. I believe that I was picking up on the thoughts and intentions of the many people that had spent hours or even days praying for a vision, or communion with God/Spirit. Thought forms can linger for a long time at a place, particularly if done by spiritual people in a very emotional and fervent way. I call the thoughts that attach to a place geograpic samskaras http://www.jubileeinitiative.org/samskaras.html and they can be a poweful aid in faciltating spiritual experiences. That is why I always try and guage geographic samskaras in surveying sacred sites.

Combine this experience with the several cosmic prana vortexes that I found and it is clear that the covering of earth chakras was done for spiritual reasons; most likely to what we now call "vision questing."

Thanks
I went to South Hill hoping that I would get some sort of confirmation about whether I should write up a report about the stone work done by the Mound builders at South Hill . I have been told.
peace,

PS This would be a great place to go vision questing and to connect with the divine. Magnificent.

New Mound Found at South Hill

Last Saturday I followed my dowsing rods to the Northeast part of South HIll and found the most interesting stone mound. It is about 15 by 20 feet in size. I am pretty confident that it is a Hopewell Adena Mound like the others we have found on South HIll because it is situated on 3 earth chakras. As I noted previously NY state archealogist felt that the numerous mounds on top of South Hill were made by the Hopewell and Adena.

The stone mound is located on a steep part of the moutain so it is highly unlikely that any farmer made the pile by clearing the area. It strategic location on 3 earth chakras also gives credence that it is like the other mounds made by the mound builders. As the pictures show it is located in a thick thicket that has not seen humankind for some time. Most of the stones are flat and it is clear that whomever constructed it was intentionally making something. Most likely the structure was flat on the top as Ritchie noted with the other mounds. It may be that the mounds were terraced in three steps. One of the pictures shows my dog Pepper on what may have been the top terrace.

All said it is a pretty remarkable find. Do not be swayed by the broken look as this pile of stones was constructed thousands of years ago. The thick thicket around it has served to protect it from intruders. The pictures do not do it justice to it and does not show the sharp incline it is situated on.

madis

I did not have enough space to manuveur to take a better picture to show the true scope of the mound or how it is situated on a steep embankment.

My dog Pepper is on what appears to be the top terrace of a terraced mound or the last remaining flat-top.

What Can We Learn from Ancient Sacred Sites

Sacred Sites Survey of South Hill, Middlesex, NY

Hypothesis—It is my fervent belief that ancient cultures were much more attuned to Mother Earth and knew how to work with earth phenomena to improve their lives and enhance their spiritual experience.

Survey—NY State Archaeologists(Parker, Richie) have written about the Woodland period (100BCE to !000AD) sites found in the Vine Valley of Yates County by Canandaigua Lake in NYS. Archaeologist and NEARA member David Robinson found several stone cairns(platform) at the top of South Hill, that he believed were Adena-Hopewell. (To read his paper--
http://www.crookedlakereview.com/articles/101_135/103spring1997/103robinson.html
They have been catalogued by his friend Stonepilewhisperer at : http://hi-torstone.blogspot.com/ The Seneca people believe that they were born at South Hill and the area contains the remains of numerous cultures.

Members of the Finger Lakes Dowsers (Chris Meath, Jill Gage, Kevin Greer, Lorraine Mavins, Madis Senner) gathered for a survey of South Hill on April 26, 2008. The morning was spent surveying and praying at the various sacred sites in the lower part of South Hill—Clarks Gully. I have written up these sites at:
http://www.jubileeinitiative.org/SacredClarksGully.html

The afternoon was spent exploring the upper falls area off of South Hill Road near the DEC parking lot. We found several large stone cairns in a bowl area below the ridge west of the falls. Attached is a picture of Chris Meath standing on one of the mounds. We believe that these cairns were spiritual in nature.

Archeologists have a lot of opinions as to why such cairns were made—rites, sun-worship, burial ceremony, etc. As a person who passionately believes in the transformative power of Mother Earth I look at it differently. I believe that ancient sacred sites were either consciously or subconsciously chosen because of their earth phenomena and the ability to commune with Mother Earth at them.

We found that the bowl area was one giant vortex field. I have to thank my dog Pepper for going absolutely ballistic hyper in helping point this out to me. Land form feng shui holds that mountains carry chi and I have found that they do very often have vortex fields. Each of the stone cairns was placed on an area that contained several energy vortexes. None of the cairns had any lines of consciousness (spirit lines, ley lines) at them as you often find at sacred sites.

It appears that cairns were located to tap into the energy. Energy vortexes are invigorating and can give you a quick boost. They can also enhance your spiritual experience.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Madis Senner
